Sure I’ll still answer! I’ve only been to two cons really, AKon and AnimeFest. Both are in Dallas. I’ve sold plushies at AnimeFest twice and attended AKon as a guest 4 or so times. Most favorite experience was selling at AnimeFest last year! (after dealing with some table placement mishaps the first day…) Least favorite was standing in line for 3 hours at AKon last year to get my badge. They could have handled that so so much better. Then I make it to the end and get told I could have skipped the whole line because I have a military (dependant) ID. Ugh!! That or following my friends around one year at AKon when they did a huge TF2 group cosplay. We couldn’t walk two feet without people wanting pictures and I got stuck holding all their stuff and standing around bored. :[
So yeah, I think it’s worth going! As a guest it’s fun to see what people are selling, go to panels, and cosplay. I think AKon is more fun to go to as just a guest since it’s bigger and there’s more stuff going on. It can get a bit too crowded for me though.. I’m wary of selling there but I might give it a shot if I can magically obtain a table. (not likely) AnimeFest is a lot of fun to sell at. You still get a lot of traffic but things aren’t as crazy there, so it’s not as stressful as I think AKon would be. I want to go to and sell at more cons but it’s hard to travel around to them :[
